CelebratE
with us
As you know, in July 2021, we got hitched! Our elopement on top of the Stawamus Chief in Squamish was amazing - just us and a few close friends, surrounded by breathtaking views in a place that is special to us. It’s still really important to us to have all of our favourite people together in one place to celebrate our relationship with each other and with you, and so we hope you can join us in August 2022 for our wedding in Squamish!
Even though we’re legally married, this will look a lot like a typical wedding you might expect from a couple like us, with some twists. There will be a dress and a suit, a ceremony and dinner, free booze and merriment, and Ben’s revered dance moves. However, there won’t be paperwork, a priest, or a harp player. This will not be a sombre affair! Love may be patient and kind but it’s also a good time and our plan is to have one, from the ceremony all the way to the last DJ set. We hope you can join!
Our wedding will be at Sitka Farms in Squamish, about 1.5 hours north of Vancouver. Yes it’s tucked away, but… the ocean, the mountains, the rivers, and the old growth forest… the breweries and cideries… and the many lifetimes of things to do outside… what more can you ask for? We think Squamish is pretty great. We also know that it is out of town for almost all of our guests (including us!). With this in mind, below you’ll find some information to help you plan your trip, spend time with us, and allow you to see the best that Squamish and the surrounding BC coast have to offer.
We love you and hope to see you!

Accommodations
We suggest that you stay overnight in Squamish at least for August 1, even if you are otherwise staying in Vancouver or another community for your trip. We plan to be in Squamish from July 30-August 3.
We suggest staying Downtown, in the Garibaldi Highlands, or in Brackendale (all neighbourhoods within Squamish). Other communities like Britannia Beach, Whistler, and Pemberton are all worth visiting and will make a great day trip from Squamish.
Book your accommodations as soon as possible. It’s a long weekend and Squamish will be busy!

Mamquam Campground
Paradise Valley Campground
Transportation
On August 1, we’ll get you to and from the venue from Squamish so you can get as merry as you’d like. Other than that, we recommend renting a car for the duration of your visit if you are coming from out of town.
Shuttle to Sitka Farms on August 1
We will have shuttles picking up and dropping guests at two locations: Junction Park Downtown and the Independent in the Highlands.
Getting from Vancouver to Squamish
About 65km or an hour’s drive along the gorgeous (but twisty) Sea to Sky Highway.
You can get shuttles from the airport or rideshares if you don’t want to rent a car.
Getting from Vancouver to Bowen Island
Visiting us on the island before or after the wedding? You’ll need to catch a ferry from Horseshoe Bay. The schedule and fares are here.
Car Rentals
Book early! It’s a busy time of year. Check out any major car rental company, or try out the Airbnb of car rentals, Turo (you’ll probably find a better deal!)

Gifts
We don’t have a registry - we are very fortunate and have everything we need.
If you would like, you can make a donation to our wedding fund through cheque, cash, or e-transfer to brittneyandbenedict@gmail.com. Our deepest thanks! - but please know it is not necessary. We know so many of you are coming from afar and as the saying goes, your presence is a present.
In lieu of a gift, we invite you to make a donation to North Shore Rescue. We hope to never need them but we’re sure glad they exist!
Kids and Plus-Ones
As much as we love kids, we hope you are able to join us for a grown-ups-only day. That said, we know that leaving the kiddo(s) behind can be challenging and if it’s the difference between you coming or not, we’d rather have all of you than none of you. Please just give us a heads up if you plan to bring any tiny humans.
We have extended an invitation to our wedding to the people we know and love the most - this means the people named on your specific wedding invitation. If we haven’t listed your significant other on the invitation, we hope to meet them another time! xo
Weather
Our event will be held outdoors. We’re hoping for sunshine and warm weather but it is coastal BC so come prepared for anything! This means it could be 30+ degrees and humid or 5 degrees and raining.
Dress
Ben + Brit will be in their finest wears. The venue is rustic and outdoors, with mostly grass underfoot but there are some trails on site as well that you might want to explore. So, think nice but outdoorsy. Wear whatever you think works with that!
Covid-19
We’re hoping we are in the clear this summer, but you just never know. Currently, we request that all of our guests are fully vaccinated and completely symptom-free. We will have some elderly folks and loved ones with us who are immunocompromised and their wellbeing is a priority.
Our event will be held in accordance with regulations in effect at the time. If this results in restrictions on guest count (which we do not expect but cannot guarantee), we will let you know as far in advance as possible.
Pride and the Long Weekend
Our wedding is being held over the BC Day long weekend, which also happens to be Pride!
This means that you can expect Vancouver and the entire Sea to Sky region to be VERY busy (sorry…), so BOOK ACCOMMODATIONS AND CAR RENTALS EARLY.
We know that Pride is a very important weekend for many of our friends. We want you to know that we love you and celebrate you and we’re terribly sorry we planned our wedding over Pride (oops…) We hope you can save just a little bit of party energy for Monday :)
